Configuring Outlook Express Email Client

To configure your Outlook Express or any other email client, you need to know your POP3 and SMTP server address. To find out these information:

• Log in to the hosting control panel;
• Click on the Mail Service icon on your control panel home page.

Our mail servers are configured with the POP before SMTP relay methods for sending mails. In POP before SMTP, the mail server collects your IP address when you authenticate yourself with the POP server, and then permits SMTP relaying from that IP address for a short period of time. In other word, you need to check/download your mail first, only then you can send your messages. You may follow the steps below to configure Outlook Express:

Configuring Outlook Express for POP before SMTP relay

To configure this email client with the POP before SMTP relay:

1. Open Outlook Express.
2. In the menu bar, go to the Tools drop-down menu and select Accounts.

   
    

3. On the page that shows, click Add and select Mail.

   
    

4. On the wizard page that shows, enter your name in the field and click Next to proceed.
   Note: this name will appear when you send out emails.

   
    

5. On the following page, enter your Email Address and click Next to proceed.

   
    

6. In the form that follows:
   - in the drop-down box, choose POP3 as your incoming server;
   - enter the Mail Server Name of your account for both Incoming Mail and Outgoing Mail;
   - click Next to proceed.

   
    

7. On the page that appears:
   - make sure to enter your full email address in the Account Name field;
   - enter mailbox password in the Password field;
   - check the Remember Password box to avoid entering it every time you check or send email;
   - click Next to proceed.

   
    

8. On the next page, click Finish to save settings and get back to the list of email accounts

   
    

9. Now that this email account is created, select Accounts from the Tools drop-down menu in the menu bar.
10. On the Internet Accounts window, select the newly created mail account and click Properties to edit the settings for your email account.

    
     

11. On the Properties page that appears, choose the General tab and check the settings of your email account.

    

    Here you can:
    - Enter the name that will display in your outgoing email
    - Enter the reply email address (if you wish to receive the reply at a different email address)

12. Click Apply and OK to save settings.

Now that Outlook Express is configured, you can begin to send and receive emails.
